Appointments by phone may be made Wednesday – Friday from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM (C.S.T.) beginning Tuesday, June 1. The deadline for requesting an appointment is 3:00 PM on Friday, June 11.

A monitor will be provided. The producer will run all aspects of this audition.

Preparation:
Prepare two Shakespeare pieces totaling 3 minutes: at least one in verse. Appropriate pieces from Othello and Romeo and Juliet are encouraged. Bring pic/resume, stapled back-to-back; and any scheduling conflicts for Sept/Oct.

Breakdown:
Othello
African-American male, late 40s – 60. This role is cast; seeking u/s.
Iago
Male, 40s-50s. Lifelong military officer who is not what he seems.
Desdemona
Caucasian female, 20s – early 30s. Recently wedded to Othello against her father’s will.
Emilia
Female, 30s-50s. Long-suffering and courageous wife of Iago.
Cassio
Male, 30s. Untried, honorable strategist recently named Othello’s lieutenant.
Brabantio
Caucasian male, late 50s – 70. Venetian Grandee, political machinist, and unbending father.
Roderigo
Male, 20s – 40s. Duped gentleman.
Duke
Male, late 40s and up. The reasonable, royal head of Venice.
Montano
Male, 30s – 50s. Dutiful Governor of outpost Cyprus.
Lodovico
Male, 20s – 30s. Nobleman related to Brabantio.
