Welcome to our Bursting 12th Performance Season

Welcome to our Bursting 12th Performance Season

Wow!

I hope that’s what you say when you click “Productions” in the menu bar above and scan our 12th Season. Everything is new and expanding for us, for you, and for every age in your family!

Look at all the Regional Premieres as we widen our circle of playwrights: the wildly popular and fun Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley, the touching multi-generational Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane, the new musicals coming our way in the unlikely sisterhood of Zora Neale Hurston and Margaret Mitchell, and, if I may say, Shakespeare’s Pericles – I’m not sure his fairy tale has ever been produced here in Memphis. Certainly not for FREE.

On our transformative Owen and Margaret Wellford Tabor Stage, we will bring you a Roman Julius Caesar that quite literally comes to modern life. And then for our first-ever V.I.P. Broadway Composer evening, we welcome award-winning Andrew Lippa, the musical creator of Broadway’s The Addams Family and Big Fish.

Our Gala explodes into our new home with a fun, breezy Elizabethan Feast unlike anything you’ve ever experienced. It will benefit our Education Program, which is surpassing 250,000 student interactions this year!

Also new this season are Reserved Seats and Price Tiers. Now, you will be able to choose your specific seat for Tabor Stage productions and at the price point that best suits you and your family. You can do this in person, over the phone, or online.

“Discover to Yourself” is lifted from Julius Caesar. When you and your family discover Tennessee Shakespeare Company and our Tabor Stage, you will discover wonder and questions that make you think, bring you joy, tickle you, and move you to speak or to act.

I welcome your discovery here with us.

Lots of love,
Dan McCleary, Founder
Nancy R. Copp Producing Artistic Director
